Oscar Isaac is born on January 5, 1980 in Guatemala. He received a traditional actor schooling, graduating in 2005 the Juilliard School. He was raised in the United States and there he entered the Juilliard School of famous young adults, skilled in music and arts. While still a student, he organized a music group with his good friends, where he was lead singer and bass player, and at the age of 20, he seriously got enthusiastic about cinema. His initial role was Siva from “Plutonium-239”, produced by HBO Films which had positive critics. Then Isaac pleased the audience with the role of Joseph in the Christmas drama “Divine Birth” by New Line Cinema, which sets up a chronological historical composition of Jesus' birth. It was the first film in history which was released at the Vatican.
Wonderful reviews he also received for the character of Romeo, performed by Isaac in "Romeo and Juliet" play. The musical form of "The Two Gentlemen of Verona", where he played later, also had positive reviews. It was staged by John Gahr and Mel Shapiro. Both plays could be viewed on NY Public Theatre's Shakespeare stage in the Park program.
He played one of important roles in "Beauty of the Father" play by Nilo Cruz, staged by Michael Grieff on the scene of Manhattan Theatre Club.
Oscar Isaac on the stage can be noticed in such productions as Arrivals and Departures, When It's Cocktail Time in Cuba and Spinning into Butter. While still a student at the Juilliard School, he played a significant role in the "Macbeth" play; He was also co-wrote the text and wrote the tunes for the American Occupation show; He can be seen on stage in such productions as "The Marriage of Figaro», The Birds, «The Three Sisters" and numerous others.
He attended master-classes, that were led by such artists as Sir Ian McKellen, Fiona Shaw, Simon Russell Beale, and Alfred Molina.
He still creates music and songs and performs it with his band.
If we are about awards, in 2009 he obtained the prize offered by the Australian Film Institute for Best Supporting Actor (Jose Ramos-Horta) in the film "Balibo". He was also honored with the renowned Princess Grace Award (Award provided by Rene Prince of Monaco in honor of his wife, Grace Kelly; it's awarded to a promising young actor from USA).
